What stays on your computer

• All recordings (screen, webcam, microphone)
• All projects and timeline files
• All exported video files
• All Photo Story source images
• Your kid's profiles, avatars, and preferences

By default these live in ~/Movies/CreatorPilot on macOS and %USERPROFILE%\Videos\CreatorPilot on Windows. You can move that folder anywhere you like. We never receive any of it.

What we receive from you

At purchase time, both items are processed by Stripe:

• The email you type into Stripe checkout, used only to deliver your license key and any receipt.
• The country code Stripe attaches to the payment, for tax purposes.

We never see your card number. Stripe processes payment; we receive a Stripe customer ID and a session ID.

When the app activates or validates your license (see below), our license server also receives a random device identifier the app generates, plus your platform (mac or win). This identifier is not linked to your child and is used only to count how many devices a license is installed on, so the seat limit works.

The license check

CreatorPilot is a paid app, so it confirms your license is valid. It does this when your child first activates the app on a device, and periodically after that. Each check sends only your license key and the random device identifier described above. It never sends any project content, recordings, file names, or information about your child. You are not signing in to anything; there is no account.

Updates

The app checks for new versions on launch by hitting updates.getcreatorpilot.com. The check sends only your platform (mac or win) and the version you're on. You can disable update checks in Preferences.

Crash reports

If the app crashes, you'll see a dialog asking whether to send a crash report. It is opt-in, every time. The report contains a stack trace and the app version. It contains no project content, no file names, and no identifiers we can tie to you or your child.

Telemetry and analytics

None. Beyond the three checks named above, the app does not call home. There is no “anonymous usage statistics” toggle hidden in Preferences, and no analytics running inside the app. We made this choice deliberately so we never have to argue about it.

Marketing

We don't have a newsletter. We don't have ads. We don't sell or share your email with anyone. We use Stripe to process payment and one email provider to deliver your license-key email; that is the extent of it.

Children's privacy (COPPA)

CreatorPilot is designed to be used by children, and we built it specifically so that using it does not put a child's personal information online.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from a child. The app creates no child accounts, no cloud profiles, and no “sign in with anything.” There is no chat, no comments, no messaging, no social feed, and no way for a child to publish or upload anything from inside the app. A child's recordings, photos, projects, and profile stay on your family's computer under the parent's control.

The only information that reaches our servers is tied to the parent's purchase (the email at checkout) and the license itself (a random device identifier and platform). None of it identifies a child, and none of it is requested from a child. Because the app collects no personal information from children, it does not use children's information for advertising, profiling, or any secondary purpose.

If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, or you want us to delete the purchase email associated with your license, write to hello@getcreatorpilot.com and we will delete it within seven days and confirm in writing.

Your rights

If you bought a license and want us to delete the email tied to it, write to hello@getcreatorpilot.com. We'll do it within seven days and confirm in writing. Your license stays valid; we'll just no longer have a way to reach you.
